On Wednesday night as members were using Facebook to encourage an early turnout at the Miners Standard, the weatherman showed that the weekend temperatures would be in single figures and some white stuff might be around. But that doesn’t put Mayflower off and the early pioneers were there on Thursday to plant the Mayflower Flag (if we had one), more arrived on Friday and Sue and I on Saturday

The 43rd Pilgrims Rally was once again a sterling success with great weather, a sell-out attendance, a brilliant band and a great turnout of members, as well as guests.

The story is shown here in pictures, but a few facts to add to that:

...a nice 'spring' rally for the brave...

I'd been itching to get out camping again for the last couple of weeks. I'd been down to the AGM but only on the Saturday for the meeting and had to leave straight after as I had important 'stuff' at home. So, when Friday came around and it was time to set off for the Miners Standard in Winster, Derbyshire , I was chomping at the bit to get going.

An easy-going weekend in sunny Yorkshire.
